Used bookshelf speakers | Hockett HiFi

Some FAQ’s From You….

I have accumulated some frequently asked questions from my customers. Hopefully you will find your answers here.

Yes you can. I have over 35 years of combined experience in face to face HiFi retail and online sales. My word is my bond and I’m proud of my eBay feedback rating.

If I purchase your used HiFi, I will either give you physical cash, arrange a bank transfer, or pay you using PayPal. I may also offer to sell your equipment on a commission basis.

No. Shipping costs are calculated before dispatch and there is no VAT to pay. Oversees buyers need to check with their own customs and import tax offices for any duty payable.

I will always be on hand should you experience any difficulties. Once a customer, always a customer.

Almost everything I sell comes with a warranty and is detailed in item descriptions. This is dependent on the condition, age and cost of the item. No warranty is offered or implied on items sold for spares or repair.

Refunds and returns are accepted ONLY if an item is faulty or not as described. In this highly unlikely event, I will arrange a refund in full (Less return shipping) assuming the goods are returned to me undamaged and with no evidence of parts swapping. EXCLUDES items sold for spares, repairs or parts for which no warranty is given or implied.

Most of the equipment I sell is UK sourced and will be set to run on a 220 – 240 volts 50 cycle supply. However many items I sell are dual voltage or can be modified internally to run on 110 – 120 volts. Please ask for specific details. Equipment can sometimes be operated in other countries with the use of a mains transformer but it is the buyers responsibility to check this before purchasing.

Items will be checked before dispatch and any working defects found will be rectified. The exception will be items sold for spares or repair. Items could be sold with cosmetic blemishes commensurate with use and age, but full details will be found in descriptions.

I use original boxes whenever possible and add extra layers of protection if needed. I take great care in making sure your items reach you in the same condition they left me using only trusted couriers. For more valuable items I may organise personal collection or delivery.

Yes of course, but this is by appointment only.

Yes I can but the equipment needs to be high-end, unusual, or rare for this to be possible. For ”run of the mill’ equipment valuations, please use the quote page or call me direct.

Yes I have facilities to set up demos by appointment. Contact me for details.

If equipment is left by a loved one, family or friend, I can sympathetically help identify HiFi equipment and make sure that the bereaved gets the best return. If the items are valuable I will make sure they end up with a deserving audiophile rather than being sold for a pittance on a car-boot table following a house clearance.

It may be possible. Contact me please.

Although I am happy to consider most items, generally I do not buy low-end budget equipment. Don’t worry if your equipment is not working or faulty, I may still consider it so it is always worth asking. Please note that significant cosmetic damage can have a large effect on value, whether the item is working or not.

Yes for sure, I can help identify and value almost any piece of HiFi equipment.

Yes, for the more serious set-ups this may be a possibility.
